Call of Duty: Black Ops III for PC / Windows is another installment in the popular shooter series. Set in the distant future, the game continues the story presented in Black Ops II, albeit this time we are dealing with an even grimmer vision of reality. Studio Treyarch took care of the production.

The story takes the player to the year 2065, 40 years after the drone attack organized by Raul Menendez in the previous part of the series. To prevent a similar situations from ever happening, the world has decided to create a special defence system. Unfortunately, nobody prepared for the other dangers that could lead humanity to the brink of chaos. Climate changes, shrinking resources, and an ideological conflict regarding genetic modifications and implants had divided the society and became a reason for increasingly bloodier wars.

The game invites us into a world of future, a few decades after the events in Black Ops II. The world plunged into chaos resulting from a political crisis, natural supplies running low, and dynamic technological progress that led to multiple conflicts. This is a background for exciting multiplayer experience the franchise is famous for. Because the game is set in the future, it draws much inspiration from the previous installment, Call of Duty - Advanced Warfare. Soldiers can make use body augmentations that allow them e.g. to turn their arm into a rifle, jump higher than a normal man, or run across walls like in Titanfall.

However, unlike all previous installments in the series, both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III are deprived of single player campaign. This game mode, which normally allows for cooperation of four players and a greater measure of non-linearity than before, was tailor-made for PC and the eight generation consoles. The developers explained that it was impossible to implement the campaign in its existing form on older platforms without compromising its quality. They also reasoned that this mode has always had relatively low popularity in comparison with multiplayer.
